The performance consists of duets and solos by Arianna Economou and Alexandra Waierstall representing two generations of dancers within the same philosophy of Dance Development known in the late 70s as New Dance and today as Dance Development. Arianna and Alexandra (mother and daughter) coming from Cyprus have both been students of Mary Fulkerson or/and have been under the influence and philosophy of similar pioneers/ leaders of post-modern dance; Alexandra at EDDC (Arnhem-Dusseldorf) and Arianna at Dartington College of Arts in England.
This performance aims to be a plateau where one can see and experience the dancers own different approach and interest in making new work, within their own distinct individual style and history.
Arianna Economou and Alexandra Waierstall in the Dialogue developed in this performance are using at times material stemming from other works of their own especially from their recent work based on two of nature's elements FIRE and WATER. These projects were originally developed within a specific landscape in Cyprus and in close contact with the local surrounding community.
The performance uses texts by Th. Roethke and T.S.Elliot and improvised pre recorded music including works by G. Ligeti and B. Britten.
