"Re-turn", is a performance commemorating a journey of passage and it belongs to the area of autobiographical and interdisciplinary performance. Here the performer chooses a "topos", a place, a square foot of earth, that has meant or still means a lot to her. This topos / site was used as the source for making a site specific performance which was then adapted for the indoor and theatre space of performance.
"I feel in this journey" notes Athena, "I am joining the stories of a much larger history, the history of Larnaca where I was born and the myths and rituals related to mourning and rejoicing, rites to do with Water and Resurrection, the coming back to Life, as in the rites of Passage layered within my square foot such as: Kataklysmos, Ayios Yialos, Hydrophoria, Adonia. A journey of passage"
